Already more than 400 prefixes deleted and still not at the end of the big sweep. (SPWU at the moment of writing this). I guess there will be about 100 more to delete this month before the clean-up is finished. But by the end of this month Prefixlist.com will be the most reliable containersite on the net again. And that's about time. There are a lot of these sites nowadays, competition increases, but all have the same problem. It is because how these sites start. All are copies of each other and all are eager to list as many prefixes as possible. So was Prefixllist.com. And I'm ashamed to say that as result of this there were prefixes listed of companies that went bankrupt as far back as 1972. It's also striking to see that more than 75% of the companies listed have new websiteaddresses. A hell of a job to search all the right links again. If you follow Prefixlist.com on Twitter (www.twitter.com/prefixlist) you know how much is changed in the list. It's inevitable that too many prefixes are deleted now. Prefixes of containers that still exist somewhere and therefor wrongly deleted. If you find these containers please notify me.
The prefixlist might be shrinking, the picture database is rapidly expanding. With special thanks to Jim Mcpherson who is paying a lot of attention at the gates of a canadian terminal and to Martyn Read who let me use lots of british railpictures. I also asked the owner of an american railsite to use pictures, but never had any respons. Too bad. Maybe sometime.... The total amount of pictures on Prefixlist.com now is more than 1350. Still it's never enough. The total amount of prefixes will be approximately 3250, so not even half is at the picturepage yet. So still a lot to add. If you have a picture of a container that is not listed yet or if you have a picture of better quality, don't hesitate to send it.
